Imagine thousands of people reading the same book at exactly the same time! It’s called National Simultaneous Storytime and nearly a million people took part in 2016.
The featured book this year was I Got This Hat by Jol and Kate Temple (illustrated by Jon Foye). Townsville CityLibraries invited me to read the ogre book as a warm up to the main event as they know I have a pretty decent collection of kooky hats and The Trouble With Ogres also features some fancy headwear. It was a hoot.
I was chuffed to be invited to take part in a nationwide event that promotes reading (and hat appreciation), thanks TCC Citylibraries.

I’m working on a bilby character for a new project (which is a way off yet) but seeing as it’s Easter I thought I’d let him out for a wander. Whaddaya think?
The library has been a sanity saver since Ollie joined our family. We love visiting the library and sitting down to read or play games. So it’s exciting that my first public reading of The Trouble With Ogres is at Citylibraries Thuringowa. I’ll be holding a book reading on Monday April 4, from 10:00am. We’ll read the book then try acting out some ogre moods and get crafty with some colouring. The session is free but you’ll need to book for the drama/craft activities.
